Deflating Adrienne Bailon
By Karen Malmquist
IF THERE’S A CURE FOR FOOT-IN-MOUTH DISEASE, The Real star Adrienne Bailon needs one.
As she and her co-stars await a pick-up for the new talk show, the former Cheetah Girl is conveniently keeping herself in the gossip headlines. A few weeks ago, it was the fake boyfriend she created to get Rob Kardashian to leave her alone after the break-up. Yesterday, she said Britney Spears “can’t hold a conversation.” Today? The people at Disney compared her to a porn star.
Anything for ratings, right?
Bailon discussed her decision to get a boob job at 18, right after doing the first Cheetah Girls, saying that she wanted to “up the ante and get my sexy on.” However, she “went from one insecurity to another insecurity, because although she asked for a B-cup enhancement, she somehow ended up as a double-D. According to the former singer, as she was about to start production on The Cheetah Girls 2 in Barcelona, Spain, Disney’s reaction to her new body was, “We left her a Cheetah Girl and she came back a porn star! What’s going on?”
This seems to be the only Disney star scandal we haven’t heard of before, but after Vanessa Hudgens’ sexting news and Miley’s bong fiasco, Bailon wants her time to shine, too.
The episode’s topic of discussion stayed on plastic surgery, as Bailon went on to say that she has since had her implants removed, and opted for a lift instead. “When I have babies and I breastfeed, instead of throwing them over my shoulder, I will have breast implants again.” Good to know.
In case we forgot that she used to be in the music business (we did), in an earlier episode she threw serious shade at Britney Spears, having worked with her on The X-Factor last year and saying that the pop icon “can’t hold a conversation.” As if she didn’t seem desperate enough, Adrienne added that Britney had “the ultimate meltdown,” which she claims was “karma” for “stealing” Kevin Federline. While she was saying this, a picture of Spears from 2007 with her head shaved appears on the screen behind her.
While Bailon’s co-stars rushed to Spears’ defense, hell hath no fury like scorned Britney fans. If The Real is hoping to get the good press they need to get picked up for a full series, this isn’t how you do it.
