I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY CREEPING EVER EARLIER. With a personal motto being — “everything goes better with glitter” — the holidays can’t come soon enough. The day after Halloween I was checking the car dial for the local radio station that plays sappy Christmas tunes 24 hours a day until Dec. 26. (Note to radio station: less somber, more cheery, please.) Glitter, mercury glass, tinsel and twinkling lights — all against the backdrop of snow — makes me dizzy with delight. Maybe that’s where the ‘dizzy lizzy’ came from.
Christmas is also about giving and receiving. And to get you in the spirit, here’s your chance to win the gorgeous one-of-a-kind Christmas wreath shown above.
Handcrafted by Suzie of GeorgiaPeachez, this heirloom quality decoration is made of vintage Christmas decorations and tiny collectibles and sells for $125. One of her fantastic creations was featured on the cover of Romantic Homes. And all you have to do be entered into the drawing to win it is write one email to us saying what you like and don’t like about the site — and then leave a total of six comments or wisecracks on the site between now and Nov. 30. Simple one-word comments won’t cut it; you really need to be thoughtful or clever. A drawing will then be held from the names of commenters who comply with those two requests. Friends and family of the site are not eligible. The drawing is only open to U.S. residents in the contiguous 48 states. The winner will get this beautiful decoration in time for this Christmas.
