SHE’S A GIVER

Who’s The Most Generous Celebrity of All? Group Says It’s Taylor Swift
By Jacob Wittich
TAYLOR SWIFT’S NEWEST ALBUM may be about heartbreak, but even with a heavy heart she still finds to give.
According to DoSomething.org, Taylor Swift leads as the most charitable celebrity of 2012. In the past year, Swift has donated $4 million to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, $600,000 for flood relief in Iowa and Tennessee and even more money towards music education and anti-bullying initiatives.
Swift has been so charitable this past year that she became the youngest-ever recipient of the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award, even after she dumped Kennedy’s grandson.
Trailing close behind Taylor on DoSomething.org’s list is Miley Cyrus. The former Hannah Montana star was recognized for promoting Saving SPOT! Rescue, a non-profit organization for finding a home for dogs from high-kill shelters, as well as raising awareness for the Save the Music Foundation and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Completing the top five were Channing Tatum, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber for their work with The Rainforest Foundation, the Born This Way Foundation and the Believe Charity respectively.
As Taylor’s Red tour kicks off next year to promote her new album, we expect we’ll see more of her money will go to making her the reining queen of charity two years in a row.
