The company's luxury liner Splendor carrying 4,500 of vacationing passengers was towed into port in San Diego, Cali. today after three days adrift in the Pacific Ocean. Passengers disembarking painted a bleak image aboard the vacation liner with dark cabins, no food and unworkable toilets.

"It's been like a nightmare," said Fahizah Alim, 26, of Sacramento. "There's been no food, no power, no electricity, no flushing toilets. I spent the night tossing and turning in my cabin in the dark."

The ship had left Long Beach Sunday en route to a seven-day trip to the Mexican Riviera but a fire in the engine room knocked out power Monday.

Because refrigeration was lost, the company was forced to purchase food provisions from the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard, which reported delivering Spam along with Pop Tarts, croissants and other easy-to-transport goods.

"If you could see the things they put on sandwiches, seriously, this could be the only cruise ever where people lost weight instead of gaining weight," passenger Peg Fisher told the Associated Press today which reported her describing being served something that "looked like corned-beef hash."

But apparently there is a limit to how low the cruise line will admit to falling and the company insists passengers were not served ...Spam.
