LADY GAGA’S GOT THE MOVES LIKE JAGGER. The pop star took stage with the Rolling Stones on Saturday to close their “50 and Counting Tour,” celebrating the band’s five decades in music. Also joining the boys in the band were Bruce Springsteen, The Black Keys and John Mayer.
Lady Gaga joined the high energy, 70s vibe of the anniversary concert to assist with the Stone’s performance of the classic Gimme Shelter wearing a Ray Brown velvet catsuit and some serious platform boots.
“I had a life dream to be transported in a time machine to 1973 NJ, beer + badboyrs. Someone heal me it happened + then I sang with the Stones,” she tweeted of the event.
Gaga and Mick Jagger made the most of this amazing duet opportunity, wailing the song’s lyrics as the two bounced around the stage together, jiving and grooving to the pulsing drums.
Gaga prowled the entire stage, frantically shaking, jumping, and stomping as she made her way from one end to the other, quite an accomplishment given the sky-high platform boot she was wearing.
“Lady Gaga had on serious cray high heels last nite jumping all over Rolling Stones stage putting all vet runway models to shame,” Tyra Banks tweeted.
The Stones and Gaga’s haunting performance of “Gimme Shelter” generally received positive reviews. Following the performance at Newark’s Prudential Center, Lady Gaga was all smiles as she literally strutted off the stage, bobbing her head back and forth in self-satisfaction.
The Stones were also proud of the performance and made sure to praise Gaga for their collaboration.
“When Ron Wood gave me his pick and said I really love that song about you Hair, is that not every girls dream. Get me my AquaNet,” Lady Gaga tweeted after the show.
