JOHN TRAVOLTA MUST BE ONE AMAZING PERSON IN THE FLESH. Masseurs love him, old ladies love him, Oprah loves him, Carrie Fisher adores him, and now we learn that Kirstie Alley considers him “the love of her life.”
In an interview with Barbara Walters for Good Morning America, Kirstie says she succumbed to John’s charms while the two made Look Who’s Talking together in 1989. “Believe me, it took everything that I had, inside, outside, whatever, to not run off and marry John. And be with John for the rest of my life,” Alley, 61, tells Walters, who follows up with the question of why she didn’t.
Alley’s replies: “Because I feel like when you marry someone you’re supposed to work hard at it, and you’re supposed to make it work.”
At the time, the actress was married to her second husband, Parker Stevenson. The couple divorced in 1997 after 14 years of marriage. Kirstie and John went on to make two sequels to the movie, Look Who’s Talking Too, and Look Who’s Talking Now!
Meanwhile, John went on to marry Kirstie’s friend Kelly Preston and start a family. The couple have two living children and one deceased.
Of course, the pronouncement also could be yet another PR stunt perhaps to save Travolta’s reputation after three male masseurs accused him of sexual misconduct. “Something tells me this is a Scientology PR move to make John seem not gay, in a “take one for the team” for us please xo Scientology, kinda move via Kristie,” speculated “Janice Second” at Dlisted.
Yup, that’s entirely plausible.
