Karen M. PROVING ONCE AND FOR ALL THAT LOVE IS BLIND, Jersey Shore‘s Jenni “JWoww” Farley’s longtime boyfriend Roger Mathews put a ring on it. And we can only hope that two end up happier than they’ve appeared during their weekly fights on MTV as well as in their InTouch Weekly engagement announcement.

The 37-year-old tattooed meathead with a heart of gold is seen picking up his fiancé in the magazine spread. He looks like he’s struggling to hold on, no doubt he’s weighed down by that massive rock he put on her finger: 7.5 carats of white and pink diamonds set in gold.
Roger worked with Beverly Hills jewelers Alan and Layna Friedman to design the bling. “It’s more than I ever expected,” JWoww admits.

While Snooki and Jionni’s engagement happened suddenly, Roger planned his proposal for months, popping the question during a skydiving session. It’s hard to imagine Jenni the skydiving type, what with the hair extensions and fake eyelashes likely flapping in the wind like an eagle’s wings. But no doubt the surprisingly sweet gesture ended with the couple holding each other tightly, crying off all their bronzer.

The New York Daily News claims the duo have actually been engaged for months but that MTV producers asked them to hold back the announcement “for filming.”

Now that Jenni’s finally getting married, let’s take a trip down memory lane. Shall we? The two were friends before Jenni and the gang began terrorizing Seaside Heights, New Jersey, but at the time she was dating Tom, the guy who left her and stole several items including her hard drive from her. You know, a real catch. She then quickly fell into Roger’s arms, and the two have been bickering and making up like an old married couple ever since.

During their stint on Snooki & J-Woww, Jenni and Roger’s relationship woes were the spotlight, especially Roger’s constant sexual frustration due to going for months without a roll in the hay. After almost breaking up in the season finale, it’s doubtful viewers really thought it a good idea to, “Yeah, get engaged right away!” Regardless, MTV ran with the engagement announcement and put together a heartfelt news story to rival E!’s coverage of Will and Kate’s engagement news.

The exact time when the news hit, bestie Nicole Polizzi tweeted, “I love watching Planet Earth, presumably because she’s known about the engagement for a while. She followed that up with a message of love: “@JENNIWOWW CONGRATS on the engagement boo!,” the new mom tweeted. “Love you so much.” Snooki’s congrats was followed by similar huzzahs from Jersey Shore cast mates Vinny Guadagnino, DJ Pauly D. and Sammi.

You know it’s only a matter of days before Snooki starts pushing for Jenni to get knocked up so the two can experience the “dressing up the baby in ridiculous outfits and tuxedos” phase together. Snooki’s son Lorenzo was born Aug. 26.

Roger may not be ready for a baby just yet, but hey, at least he’ll finally get laid!
