I have a son with FAS. I can tell you that there are evaluations one can have done if they wish to find out. Most biological parents choose not to have an eval and opt for diagnoses related to fas (like ADHD, ASD, ODD) and are satisfied with that. It’s hard to say you injured your child.
Additionally, of the 40,000 babies born in the US who are injured from alcohol, only 10% will have the facial features related to FAS because it correlates to a very specific time in pregnancy. Each moment of pregnancy is correlated to different birth defects. The brain can be injured at any time.
