DVID BECKHAM IS PACKIN’.
The tattooed Adonis makes his second appearance in an H&M underwear ad but this time he’s, ahem, arousing more controversy than usual.
The black and white ads depict the sexy soccer player in white tights with a bulging protrusion (leaving some making some question why his stylish Mrs. never smiles).
But wait! There’s more! Accompanying the release of the seductive shots are six 10-foot silver statues of the model strategically placed throughout Manhattan. And those hunks of love are being met with some hard criticism.
“We all know that sex sells, but this is way over the top,” New York mom Sarah Kramer, 40, tells the New York Post. Brooklyn mom Lilian Venezia concurs: “Who on Earth is telling Beckham that he looks great in the pictures? He must be blind to the ridiculousness.”
Even seasoned Manhattan marketer Donnetta Campbell is appalled: “H&M should be embarrassed,” the mom of five kvetches to the Post. ” … “It looks like an alien porn shot, and you’re thinking, ‘Is that all him?’ ”
Natch, we wouldn’t have a story if there wasn’t disagreement. And there are some ladies who like the poppin’ eye candy — and think it’s about time they got somethin’ somethin’ from the advertisers.
“You can practically tell which religion he is,” cracks 36-year-old mom Lisa Connell, 36, “but he looks very masculine. Beckham is a hero, and all that’s missing is the cape with an S on the back.”
