TMZ’S SCORED SOME GRAINY VIDEO SHOWING REESE WITHERSPOON IN HANDCUFFS THAT you can check out here, but we think far more worthy of your time (okay, not really) is
David Spade’s off-the-cuff guideline on when it’s okay to pull the ol’
‘Don’t you know who I am’ excuse.
“Reese is falling to pieces, is that what I’m hearing?,” Spade cracks to TMZ’s reporter on scene.
“I think the general rule is when you say, ‘Do you know who I am?,’ the answer is most likely no,’ ‘ the gum-chewing comedian opines. “If you have to explain to someone you’re famous then you’re technically not that famous.”
The Rules Of Engagement actor says when he gets turned down in restaurants or clubs, “I don’t try to explain to them I’m a big deal because clearly I’m not big enough a deal.”
Witherspoon was arrested early Friday morning in Atlanta for interfering with a state trooper who was arresting her husband Jim Toth for allegedly driving drunk. “Do you know my name?,” the Oscar winner threw at the trooper, before adding, “You’re about to find out who I am.”
‘ I stated, ‘I am not worried about you ma’am.'”
She subsequently bagged visits to Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America to promote her new movie, Mud.
Meanwhile, the couple was spotted getting cozy at New York’s Greenwich Hotel with friends Chelsea Handler, Cameron Diaz and Judd Apatow. The arrest ain’t nothing but a thang. And here’s Reese cracking jokes last January with Matt Damon (sitting in for Jimmy Kimmel) about how booze helps her manage child-rearing. At least, we think it’s a joke.
