WHO RUNS THE WORLD? Beyoncé. Now bow down, b***hes.
The Bey Hive buzzed with excitement when the Queen Bey surprised the world by dropping a new song on her Tumblr yesterday.
Bow Down / I Been On features the same aggressive style fans are familiar with from her previous works like Diva and Run the World (Girls)” yet contains an urban element not always present in Beyoncé’s music.
Sings Bey: I took some time to live my life, but don’t think I’m just his little wife. Don’t get it twisted, get it twisted, this my sh–t, bow down, b***hes,” Beyoncé sings aggressively over the up-tempo high-pitched track.
While not an official single, Beyoncé’s cocky lyrics on the track already have people buzzing. “Now it’s “You wanna be me. Bow down bitches”?!! Someone needs to be fired. I will enjoy this vacay from Beyonce,” tweeted @CristalBubblin. “Remembering how the White House endorsed Beyonce as a role model for their daughters-Bow Down B—,“ sniped @mrdaveyd.
And singer Keishia Cole slammed Bey’s outsized ego, tweeting, “Can’t stand when people all self righteous when it’s convenient it makes them look good. Lmao! But can still talk shit when convenient 2 FOH.”
Jay-Z may have sworn off the B-word after the birth of the couple’s daughter, Blue Ivy, but Beyoncé holds nothing back in this egotistical anthem. Although slightly on the hypocritical side, Bey has no problem calling out some b***hes…who she previously wrote hit songs for encouraging self-love and empowerment.
The latter half of the track, I Been On, features the same instrumental used in the promo commercial for the upcoming Mrs. Carter Show World Tour.
Bow Down / I Been On is produced by Hit-Boy, the same producer who helped Kanye West and Jay-Z claim the throne with Niggas In Paris.”
Now it seems Ye and Jay are the ones who should be watching the throne, because Queen Bey aims to rule with this track.
