NOW THAT ADRIENNE MALOOF IS NO LONGER A WIFE, it’s only fitting that she’s no longer a “Real Housewife.”
Following her dramatic separation from husband and co-star on the reality show, Paul Nassif, and speculation that she would not be returning for season 4, the 51-year-old made it it official on her website:
“To my loyal fans… It was time to exit RHOBH,” she writes. “The show served as a wonderful platform for all the amazing projects that I have in the works. I am forever grateful to my fans, thank you for your support, and stay tuned!”
One such project is a new Meditterannean restaurant which she hopes will compete head-on with Lisa Vanderpump’s Villa Blanca. TMZ claims Maloof bragged to a business associate that gonna “kick Lisa’s ass!”
Several media outlets report that Maloof refused to be at the season 3 reunion special because of her divorce agreement with Nassif, which prohibits her from talking about the divorce. Knowing it would obviously come up, she opted out. However, some speculate that Maloof didn’t quit, and that she was fired instead! A source told FOX 411 that she was asked not to come back after her absence from the reunion show.
Regardless, it’s going to be hard to replace Maloof. Though her drama took center stage in season 3, in earlier seasons, she often served as a voice of reason, as rare as that is in RHOBH. Her crumbling 10-year marriage, accusations of child abuse on one side and drinking too much on the other, and her perpetual feud with co-star Brandi Glanville kept the attention focused on her.
Don’t worry too much about Maloof, though. In true Real Housewife style, she’s now dating Sean Stewart, the 32-year-old formerly drug-addled son of rocker Rod Stewart. It’s unlikely that this is the last we’ll see of her antics.
